I took Ed and Ben's 30 day fitness and nutrition challenge in June. Day 1... wondering what have I got myself into... "30 days... at least 5 or six times a week working out... no bread... no dairy... no wine.....what was I thinking!.... day 10... lost about 5 pounds... feeling pretty good... pants a little looser... starting to get tired of Ed and Kiarash telling me to kick the bag harder, faster... flip the ropes faster and higher... day 30... I lost 17 pounds and more importantly over 5% reduction in body fat.... I feel stronger... and feel great! The challenge was amazing... Ed, Kiarash, Dustin and Claire pushed us hard, motivating us to work harder. Versus Training is a great gym. Signing up for another 3 months!!!"

"I took the 30 day challenge to help boost my motivation, get into better shape and wow was it ever a good start! The diet was perhaps limited but not hard to follow if one was prepared. That was my
biggest obstacle, ensuring I had enough food prepped during the day so I wasn't too hungry at night. I found the noon fitness classes really fun and energetic with everyone pushing hard. I could literally mark an improvement each week as I ran through difference circuits.

Although I followed the program pretty strict, with only a few slip ups, I didn't experience a huge weight loss. Just over 3 pounds, but I did on the other hand lose over 5% body fat, look slimmer and feel stronger in just one month. Which to me is fantastic! I plan to continue applying the good habits I learned over the course of the 30 days and can't wait for the next challenge."

"This is a fantastic place to train. Awesome people, awesome programs. Great depth in both martial arts and their own developed conditioning program. Gracie Jiu-jitsu, mixed Karate/Muay Thai, Fighterbody conditioning, and coaches and trainers that give you attention, input and encouragement whatever level you are at. This gym gives you value every time you go through the door. "

"At 35 I am in the best shape of my life. I can directly attribute this to Ben and the team at Versus. The hard work put in while training along with following their nutritional advice has paid huge dividends. I highly recommend Versus to anyone who is serious about training. "

"This is a great gym! I have been doing Fitness Training/Fighterbody here for a year and half and that is the longest relationship I have had with a gym :). I love training here because I feel like I get a challenging full body workout every session. The training is hard but fun and the trainers are not only knowledgeable but also friendly and approachable. I have brought a lot of friends here who are all at different fitness levels. They have all loved it too. This place is definitely worth checking out! "

"Probably the best gym in Vancouver that more people need to know about! As said before, excellent Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and kyokushin/muay thai hybrid kickboxing programs, along with Fighterbody and the Fitness Boot Camps run by the Evil Aussies, Ben and Ed! The Kickboxing program feature two different styles of coaching, with Coach Kiarash (a Canadian National Kickboxing champion) bringing the intensity and Coach Saied (Kiarash' head coach) supplying a deeper insight into the technical aspect of striking, as well as both beginner and advanced classes. BJJ is taught by Coach Mahan, a highly skilled brown belt under multiple-time champion and 4th Degree black belt Wellington "Megaton" Dias, and runs superb classes. Simply put, the gym has it all, and you need to come check it out! "

"The best place to train! Working out here is a tonne of fun thanks to the exceedingly dedicated and knowledgeable staff. Ben and Ed know how to push you right up to your limits, and then just a little bit beyond; all the while ensuring that you avoid injury and poor form. The guys here make you feel right at home and the environment is super friendly. I've never felt better and it's all thanks to Versus (Ben in specific!). I always am recommending Versus to friends, and those that go have only had positive experiences. "

"Great gym, positive atmosphere. Been a member almost a year, the fitness classes push you beyond what you think you're capable of!!! Got me in excellent shape, was able to return to rugby after 10 year layoff. No time wasted, everything is planned out for your hour workout when you arrive. Ben, Ed, and all the trainers are very knowledgable and push you hard while keeping it fun. All types of classes for different fitness levels. Best of all, they don't pressure sell you on joining, they gave me 2 free classes to try and see if I liked it...and I've been going ever since! "

"Best Gym I`ve been to. Organized, clean and you learn to get to know just about everyone! Very Flexible schedule with early morning classes x2, noon and typically two in the evening as well.. and thats only the upstairs! Many thanks to Ed, Ben, Jae and Claire for all their expertise. I find all the trainers motivating and knowledgeable so its a comfortable atmosphere for newbies and fighters alike. Have already converted 8 friends. Love it. "

"Judy Wright is an inspiring, dedicated, and dynamic fitness trainer. Her knowledge of the body and how much one can endure is amazing. She is unforgivingly ruthless though extremely effective and always safe!

Whether you want to maintain weight, build muscle, lose fat, or train for a fitness competition, one can be confident that the body and mind are in good hands with Judy. This woman will push you without empathy, while still maintaining a safe workout zone. I trust and adore Ms. Judy Wright and I will always attribute my start in the fitness world to this wonderful trainer and human being !! When I walked into Versus 21 looking for a trainer, I knew I needed someone that would be willing to push me to my limits to help me attain the physique I always wanted, but what was that? Through an assessment with her, Judy helped me to figure that out and sure enough I was pleasantly surprised as I watched my hard work take shape on my body. After several months of training with her she introduced me to the sport of Figure competitions. I entered the Figure and Muscle Model categories at the FAME/WNSO Canadian Nationals and came out with first place wins and my Pro Card!! Those wins kickstarted my future in the fitness industry, which continues to take shape everyday!!

Post competition, I continued to train with Judy and within a week of my win, I landed a job as a fitness model for a workout DVD and my abs are now featured on the cover of the box shot. I also trained with Judy to be a Guest Performer at the FAME West show in March of 2009. Because my guest performance entailed quite a bit of choreography as well as flexibility and strength moves, Judy was cautious in making sure I did not over-train so that I could maintain enough energy to make it through my dance rehearsals, but still helped me to gain the muscle I wanted and leaned me out in time for the show. It was also around that time that I became an Oxygen Magazine fitness model and Judy trained me for two photo shoots: one for Training the Glutes and the other for the Summer 2009 Abs Collector issue.

Had I not relocated to the opposite coast, Judy would remain my trainer of choice. I highly recommend getting your fitness assessment with Judy whether you are a seasoned athlete or a newcomer to the fitness world. In choosing her, you can only go Wright ;) "

"Working with versus made all the difference in preparing for my first fitness competition! There are a dozen aspects of the contest that we were thoroughly prepared for, and quickly became familiar with by practicing every week. There are so many little things that you would never know to prepare for that contest coach helps you to expect and perfect.

Going into my first show, my only expectations were to have a great experience and get into the best shape of my life, but those at versus knew they saw the right potential in me to really do more. Little did I know, that I would step onto the WBFF BC championship stage for the very first time and win first place fitness model. I know for sure that if those from versus 21 didn't spot me out of a lineup of girls in a bikini contest, and see the fitness model potential in me then I would not have achieved the things I have now today. Without contest coach, Judy Wright and the gang at Versus I would have been completely lost. They were with me every step of the way helping me to perfect everything I needed to be number one! If you are planning on competing, make sure you compete on team versus so that when you step on that stage you have all the tools to rock out on the river rock stage!"
